About Arrowhead Basketball Club

Arrowhead Basketball Club (ABC) is a Wisconsin based, not-for-profit corporation; founded in 1999 and incorporated in 2001. The Club provides education, training and competitive play with the emphasis in sportsmanship, citizenship, and personal development to boys and girls of the Arrowhead Union School District, Hartland, Wisconsin. The Club is independent of all schools within the district.

ABC offers opportunity for boys and girls in grades 4 - 8 to increase individual and team basketball skills. We focus on the development of fundamentals during practices, the best environment to enhance individual and team talent.

Through inspirational and directed coaching, our players will play and practice hard, gain confidence, learn to be great teammates and be motivated to potentially play basketball for Arrowhead High School. Most importantly, we hope they will have fun!

ABC is a "select" program

ABC is a "select" club; players are chosen after a series of tryouts every Fall. All school district players (girls and boys) in grades 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 (based on the current school year) are welcome to participate in tryouts. Tryouts are held in late September and/or early October. Dates and times are posted on our website. Coaches work hard to ensure every player gets a fair and legitimate chance to be selected.

Since ABC is not a recreational program, players earn playing time by attending practices, attention to instruction, absorbing coaching and playing hard all the time. The season is long with many games. Some players may earn the opportunity to play more. But all players will play significant minutes when the season is viewed as a whole, not just individual games.

Twenty to twenty-two players per grade, per gender are selected after tryouts. Players are divided into two teams; RED and BLUE by the coaches after several practices.

Leadership & Management

The club is managed by a Board of Directors which follows its By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation.

The general officers of the Corporation include: Executive Director, Director of Personnel and Instruction, Treasurer and such officers as deemed necessary and appointed in accordance with the By-Laws. All board positions are automatically renewed yearly.
